The AI Ronin LabPrivacy policy

This policy describes what the site actually does, not what a template says a website usually does. Where something is not switched on yet, it says so, and it says what will change when it is.
The short version
The AI Tool Finder and AI Guide matching run in your browser and are not sent to an AI model. There is no visitor account or login. This site sets no cookies of its own.
The site keeps a small anonymous interaction log in browser storage and also sends a limited first-party analytics event to a dedicated Cloudflare Worker controlled by The AI Ronin. When the site's Cloudflare analytics database is configured, those anonymous events are stored centrally so the owner can understand searches, comparisons, Guide views and outbound clicks.
What is stored on your device
The AI Tool Finder writes progress to browser local storage under
aiRoninFinderAnswers. It contains:
- the seven answers you have selected so far;
- which question you are on;
- whether you finished the quiz.
The site also stores anonymous interaction events under
ronin_analytics_local_events_v1. These can include page type, search
keywords or categories, AI tool IDs shown or compared, Guide views, and whether an
outbound or affiliate link was clicked. A random browser-session ID is attached so a
sequence of actions can be viewed as one anonymous journey. Names, email addresses,
message contents, payment data and confirmed purchases are not included.
The browser copy is retained for up to 30 days (and capped by event count), can be cleared with your browser's site-data controls, and local recording can be paused from the owner/debug tools. The same limited event schema may also be sent to the first-party central collector described below.
No cookies are set by this site. Local storage is not a cookie: it is not attached to network requests and cannot be read by other sites.
What is not collected
- No names, email addresses, or accounts — there is nothing to sign up for.
- No form submissions. The site has no form that sends data anywhere.
- No advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting scripts.
- No third-party embeds — no fonts, scripts, videos or widgets are loaded from other domains. Every asset comes from this site.
- No AI model calls. The Finder's matching is plain arithmetic running locally.
Analytics
The current build uses a first-party analytics collector running as a dedicated Cloudflare Worker controlled by The AI Ronin. Browser events are sent to that Worker over HTTPS. When its Cloudflare D1 binding is active, the collector stores a limited anonymous event record centrally for the site owner.
Central events can include an anonymous random session ID, timestamp, page type/path, on-site search keywords/categories, AI tool IDs shown or compared, Guide views, and whether an outbound or affiliate link was clicked. The collector deliberately does not store names, email addresses, form contents, payment information, confirmed purchases, browser user agents or IP addresses in the Ronin analytics database.
The default central retention period is 180 days. The collector performs
periodic deletion of older analytics rows. The owner dashboard is protected by a server-side
admin token and is marked noindex; analytics data is not intentionally exposed
through a public dashboard API.
The AI Guides may use privacy-safe aggregate behavior signals from this anonymous event data to refine close ranking decisions. For example, when enough people searching for a similar keyword repeatedly open, compare or visit the same relevant tool, that tool can receive a small ranking adjustment. Expert/category relevance remains the main ranking signal, behavior adjustments are capped, and affiliate clicks are weighted the same as non-affiliate outbound clicks so affiliate status does not receive a special ranking advantage.
No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising network or third-party analytics script is required by this analytics layer. Cloudflare still processes ordinary network request data at the hosting/infrastructure layer as explained below.
Hosting and email
This site is hosted and served through Cloudflare, which also
handles DNS for theaironin.com.
Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the normal technical request data needed to deliver and secure a website — typically your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and a timestamp. That happens at the infrastructure level, before any of this site's own code runs. It is not something The AI Ronin Lab collects, combines with anything, or uses to build a profile of you.
The address contact@theaironin.com uses Cloudflare Email
Routing, which forwards mail sent to that address on to a private inbox. If
you email the lab, your message and your own email address arrive in that inbox as
ordinary email, and are used only to reply to you.
Links to other websites
The Finder links out to the AI tools it recommends. Once you follow a link you are on that company's website, under their privacy policy, not this one. The AI Ronin Lab has no visibility into what you do there.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to a third-party vendor, and that vendor or its affiliate platform may use cookies or similar attribution technologies to record that the visit came from here. Those are set on their domain, under their privacy policy, and the lab has no access to them.
The AI Ronin Lab does not set any cookie of its own before, during or after that click. The site may record that an outbound or affiliate link was clicked, together with the AI tool ID and on-site search context, in both the browser analytics copy and the first-party central analytics database. That event is not proof of a signup, purchase or commission. See the affiliate disclosure for how affiliate links work.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your control
To remove the browser copy of Finder/analytics data, clear this site's browser storage; Finder progress can also be reset from the Finder. Central analytics uses random anonymous session IDs rather than visitor accounts. Questions or privacy requests concerning the central analytics system can be sent to the contact address below.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated whenever the site's behaviour changes — in particular when analytics or affiliate links are switched on. The "last updated" date at the top will change with it.
