Privacy policy

This policy describes what the site actually does, not what a template says a website usually does. Where something is not switched on yet, it says so, and it says what will change when it is.
The short version
The AI Tool Finder runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are never sent to The AI Ronin Lab, to an AI model, or to anyone else. There is no account, no login, no newsletter, and no form that submits anything anywhere. This site sets no cookies of its own.
The one thing stored is a copy of your own quiz progress, kept in your own browser so a refresh does not lose your place.
What is stored on your device
The AI Tool Finder writes a single entry to your browser's local
storage, under the key aiRoninFinderAnswers. It contains:
- the seven answers you have selected so far;
- which question you are on;
- whether you finished the quiz.
This stays on your device. It is not transmitted, and there is no server to transmit it to. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and pressing Start Over in the Finder clears it too.
No cookies are set by this site. Local storage is not a cookie: it is not attached to network requests and cannot be read by other sites.
What is not collected
- No names, email addresses, or accounts — there is nothing to sign up for.
- No form submissions. The site has no form that sends data anywhere.
- No advertising networks, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting scripts.
- No third-party embeds — no fonts, scripts, videos or widgets are loaded from other domains. Every asset comes from this site.
- No AI model calls. The Finder's matching is plain arithmetic running locally.
Analytics
No analytics provider is currently installed. The Finder contains internal event hooks — a page load, a quiz start, an answer, a completion, a result click, a restart — but at present those events are only broadcast inside your own browser tab. Nothing receives them and nothing leaves your device.
A privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics tool may be added later. If it is, this section will be updated before it goes live to name the provider and say what it collects. Any analytics used here will be chosen to work without cookies and without collecting personal data. Finder answers are product data, not personal data, and would only ever be recorded in aggregate.
Hosting and email
This site is hosted and served through Cloudflare, which also
handles DNS for theaironin.com.
Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the normal technical request data needed to deliver and secure a website — typically your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and a timestamp. That happens at the infrastructure level, before any of this site's own code runs. It is not something The AI Ronin Lab collects, combines with anything, or uses to build a profile of you.
The address contact@theaironin.com uses Cloudflare Email
Routing, which forwards mail sent to that address on to a private inbox. If
you email the lab, your message and your own email address arrive in that inbox as
ordinary email, and are used only to reply to you.
Links to other websites
The Finder links out to the AI tools it recommends. Once you follow a link you are on that company's website, under their privacy policy, not this one. The AI Ronin Lab has no visibility into what you do there.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to a third-party vendor, and that vendor or its affiliate platform may use cookies or similar attribution technologies to record that the visit came from here. Those are set on their domain, under their privacy policy, and the lab has no access to them.
The AI Ronin Lab does not set any cookie of its own before, during or after that click, and does not track which links you follow. Nothing about the click is recorded on this site. See the affiliate disclosure for which links these are and how they work.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your control
Because nothing is collected or stored remotely, there is no account to delete and no data held about you to request. To remove everything this site has put on your device, clear site data in your browser, or press Start Over in the Finder.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated whenever the site's behaviour changes — in particular when analytics or affiliate links are switched on. The "last updated" date at the top will change with it.
